About VMotion
VMotion is an automation business based in Melbourne. We work with manufacturers across Australia on robot integration, machine vision, turnkey cells, and the mechanical, electrical and software design behind them.
Some jobs are a single end effector. Some are an entire end of line. We are happy to say when a job is outside what we do.
Who you deal with
We are a small team, so the person who quotes your job is generally the person who designs it and the person you speak to during commissioning. That suits some clients and not others, and it is worth knowing up front.
Why we write our own software
25 years in the field and several hundred palletising robots teaches you where the usual tools fall short. Patterns built in spreadsheets. Robot code written by hand in whichever vendor IDE the job requires. Gripper clearance problems found on site rather than at a desk.
PalletLogics started as the tool we kept wishing we had. The OEE Data Viewer came out of the same frustration. Both are now used outside this business, which we did not originally plan for.
How a job usually runs
Most start with a conversation about what the line has to achieve rather than a written specification. From there it is concept, design, simulation, build and commissioning, and you see the cell in 3D well before anything is cut.
Afterwards you have our number.
